Occupational Therapy

Helping children build confidence, independence & everyday life skills

Occupational Therapy at Peak Learning Centre focuses on supporting individuals  in developing the skills they need for daily life — at home, at school, and in the community. Our Occupational Therapists work with each individuals strengths while building skills through play, movement, regulation and hands-on learning. We meet our clients where they are and help them grow at a pace that feels safe, supportive, and achievable.

What OT Helps With

OT can support children with:

  • Fine motor skills (grasping, writing, cutting, self-feeding)

  • Sensory processing and self-regulation

  • Visual-motor and hand-eye coordination

  • Emotional regulation and coping strategies

  • Social play and interaction skills

  • Self-care and daily living skills (dressing, toileting, hygiene)

  • School readiness and classroom participation

Whether the client needs help staying regulated, improving attention, strengthening hand skills, or building independence — OT creates a structured and playful pathway forward.

Our Approach

We prioritize connection, comfort, and child-led learning.

Our OT sessions often include:

  • Sensory play and movement-based activities

  • Strengthening fine motor and pre-writing skills

  • Play-based task practice to improve coordination

  • Tools and strategies to support attention and regulation

  • Parent collaboration to bring skills into daily routines

Every plan is individualized and designed to empower growth, reduce frustration, and build confidence.

Support Beyond the Clinic

Therapy shouldn’t stop at the session door. We work closely with families to help skills transfer into everyday home and school life.

OT at Peak includes:

  • Home strategies & recommendations

  • Collaboration with schools/daycares

  • Progress updates and goal planning

  • A warm, sensory-aware environment

Our goal is to make daily life feel easier, calmer, and more joyful for your child — and your family.

  • OAP: Occupational therapy can be included within OAP budgets under some service plans

  • Flexible Scheduling: 1:1 sessions, blocks or ongoing treatment options

  • In-person & virtual options available

We aim to make support accessible, adaptable, and family-centred.

Helping Children Grow Into Their Potential

With the right tools and support, children can build the skills that help them thrive — at their own pace, in their own way. Occupational Therapy at Peak is here to guide that journey with care, creativity, and encouragement every step of the way.
