Respite Services

A safe, meaningful break for families — and a joyful, growth-focused experience for children. At Peak Learning Centre, respite is more than supervision. We offer a warm, inclusive environment where children and youth can relax, explore, and connect — while parents and caregivers get the time, rest, and balance they need. Every moment is approached with care, intention, and understanding of neurodivergent needs.

Our Approach

Child-Led & Strength-Based Approach: We meet each child where they are — supporting their interests, soothing their sensitivities, and nurturing independence and joy through choices, play, and gentle guidance.
Neurodivergence-Inclusive Environment: Our programs are designed with regulation in mind — sensory-friendly, flexible, and built to reduce overwhelm. We welcome children with varying support needs, including those with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, developmental delays, and those without formal diagnoses.
Connection Over Compliance: We prioritize relationships, trust, and emotional safety. Children are supported by trained staff who understand behaviour as communication and respond with empathy, patience, and respect.
Engaging, Meaningful Activities: From arts and crafts to imaginative play, life-skills opportunities, quiet reading corners, indoor movement, and nature walks — activities are chosen based on the child’s interests and energy, never forced or rushed.
Flexible Scheduling to Support Families: Life is dynamic — we understand that. We offer part-time, full-time, evening, weekend, and PA Day options so families can access support when they truly need relief.
Family-Centered Collaboration: We listen. We adapt. We work with parents to honour routines, sensitivities, and goals. Respite with us feels like an extension of home, not an institution.
Regulation + Joy = Growth
Our philosophy is simple: when a child feels safe, understood, and free to be themselves — growth naturally follows.
